These terms cover Welcome TV: Guest Screen, the Android TV app (package in.thewasim.welcome), and the Welcome TV host dashboard at tv.thewasim.com (together, “Welcome TV”). By installing the app or creating a dashboard account, you agree to them.
Who provides Welcome TV
Welcome TV is provided by Wasim Iqbal (The Wasim), Gurugram, Haryana, India, acting as a trader. Contact: [email protected].
What Welcome TV does
Welcome TV lets short-stay hosts show a welcome screen on the TV in their property. Hosts enter their property’s details in the dashboard and connect their booking calendars; the TV app then shows those details, and the first names and dates of current guests, whenever the TV is switched on. Guests don’t need an account and don’t give the TV any information.
Welcome TV is in early access and is free. There are no paid plans or in-app purchases today. If that changes, prices and what you get will be shown clearly before you pay anything, and these terms will be updated.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract to create a host account.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account and on the TVs you link to it.
- Give accurate details, and keep them up to date.
Your responsibilities as a host
- Only use properties and calendars you are entitled to. Connect calendar links only for listings you host or manage.
- Guests’ information. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to show guests’ first names and stay dates on the TV in your property, and for following the privacy laws and the booking platforms’ rules that apply to you.
- What you put on the screen. You are responsible for the property details, Wi-Fi details, house rules, photos and messages you enter, and for having the right to use any photos you upload. Everything you enter is shown to whoever is in front of the TV.
- Your TV. Only link TVs you own or are allowed to set up. Unlink a TV from the dashboard when you stop using it or hand over the property.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Welcome TV to show unlawful, misleading, offensive or infringing content; to collect information about guests beyond what Welcome TV is designed to show; to try to access other hosts’ accounts or data; or to disrupt, overload, copy or reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
Booking platforms and other services
Welcome TV is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, Google or any TV manufacturer. It reads the calendar export links you provide; if a platform changes or withdraws those links, bookings may stop appearing until you update them. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Welcome TV running, but as an early-access service it may change, be interrupted or have errors. The TV keeps the latest copy of your property’s details so it carries on working offline. We may add, change or remove features; if we plan to shut Welcome TV down, we will give hosts at least 30 days’ notice by email.
Your content and our software
You keep ownership of the details and photos you enter. You allow us to store and process them only to run Welcome TV for you, as described in the Welcome TV privacy policy. The Welcome TV app, dashboard, design and name belong to Wasim Iqbal. You may use them for your own properties under these terms, but not resell or redistribute them.
Privacy and deleting your account
How we handle data is explained in the privacy policy. You can stop using Welcome TV at any time: unlink your TVs, uninstall the app, and ask us to delete your account.
Liability
Welcome TV is provided free of charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost bookings, revenue or reviews, or for problems caused by incorrect details entered by a host, by booking platforms, or by the TV, network or power supply. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Your consumer rights
Welcome TV is offered by a trader. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, or anywhere else with consumer protection laws, you keep all the rights those laws give you, and nothing in these terms takes them away. If any part of these terms conflicts with those laws, the law wins.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first; most problems can be sorted out quickly. Otherwise, the courts of Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction, and consumers may also bring a claim in the courts where they live.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. For significant changes, we will email hosts before they take effect. If you keep using Welcome TV after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
