Android TV app
Airbnb TV welcome screen
An Android TV app for my Airbnb rental in Gurugram: each time the TV turns on, guests see a welcome screen with their first name, stay dates, house rules, amenities and a Wi-Fi QR code — and on checkout day it switches to the checkout steps.
Live
- Problem
- Guests ask the same questions — Wi-Fi password, checkout time, house rules — and a hotel-style TV with ads and bloatware makes a poor first impression.
- My role
- Built the app and the guest feed, debloated the TV and set up a clean custom launcher.
- Model
- Built for my own rental; works offline once a booking is cached.
What it does
- Personal welcome with the guest’s first name and stay dates
- House rules, quiet hours and amenities
- Wi-Fi QR code to join in one scan
- Checkout-day mode with checkout steps
- Screensaver with clock and moving Wi-Fi QR
- Opens itself after a power cut or power-on
- Debloated TV with a clean custom launcher
