GSTVerify was born out of a need for a faster, more reliable way for Indian businesses to validate GSTINs. As a developer, I focused on creating a “zero-friction” user experience that bridges the gap between complex tax data and everyday business operations.
Technical Stack:
- Backend: PHP (Modular architecture for high scalability).
- Data Handling: Real-time API integration with the GSTN portal.
- Performance: Implemented a 30-day intelligent caching system to reduce API latency and server load.
- Security: NGINX-hardened server environment with strict vhost configurations.
Key Features Implemented:
- Live GSTIN Lookup: Instant fetching of registration status and taxpayer details.
- Bulk Processing: Capacity to verify up to 500 GSTINs in a single batch.
- Trust Scoring: Developed a proprietary “GST Health Score” (0–100) based on filing history.
- Developer API: A RESTful endpoint for ERP and accounting software integration.
Results: The tool currently serves thousands of queries, helping CAs and business owners avoid disallowed Input Tax Credit (ITC) by identifying inactive suppliers instantly.
