Noor (“the app”) is an Islamic prayer dashboard, screensaver and Adhan app for Android TV, published by The Wasim (thewasim.com).

What Noor collects

Nothing. Noor does not collect, store on any server, share or sell any personal or device data.

  • Noor has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything off your TV.
  • There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Prayer times are calculated on the TV. Every text the app shows is built into the app.

What stays on your TV

Your settings (for example your location’s latitude and longitude, calculation method and Adhan choices) and a short log of recent Adhan events are saved only in the app’s own storage on your TV. Noor uses them only to work. They are deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.

To pause or lower a video when the Adhan starts, Noor may check which app is playing media on your TV. This happens only on the TV, at that moment, and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Permissions

  • Alarms: to play the Adhan at prayer times.
  • Run after the TV starts: to set the next Adhan again after a restart.
  • Foreground service (media playback): to play the Adhan while another app is on screen.
  • Show over other apps (where the TV allows it): to show the Adhan reminder on top of what you are watching.
  • Notifications: Android shows a notification while the Adhan is playing.

Children

Noor is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
