This policy explains what personal data thewasim.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by Wasim Iqbal, an individual based in Gurugram, Haryana, India (“I”, “me”). I keep data collection to the minimum the site needs.
What I collect
When you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, email address, the topic of your enquiry and your message. When you send it, these details are emailed to me so I can reply. They are not saved in the website’s database.
To stop spam, the site also keeps a one-way hashed (scrambled) copy of your IP address for one hour, to limit how many messages one connection can send. It is deleted automatically after that.
When you browse the site
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how visitors find the site. It uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that referred you. I use this only in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you.
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, the server records basic request details (IP address, browser, the page requested and the time) for security and troubleshooting. The Wordfence security plugin may record the IP address of requests it blocks or finds suspicious.
- Content delivery and protection. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages quickly and protect against attacks. It may set a short-lived security cookie.
- Fonts. The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
The site has no visitor accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no payments, so I don’t collect any other personal data.
Cookies

__cf_bm): helps tell people from bots. It lasts about 30 minutes.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Why I use your data
- To read and reply to your message, and to keep a record of our conversation.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam and abuse.
I never sell your personal data, and I don’t use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
Your data is shared only with the services that run the site: my web hosting provider, my email provider (for contact form messages), Cloudflare and Google (Analytics and Fonts). Some of these companies process data on servers outside India. I may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
- Contact form messages: kept in my inbox for as long as they’re useful for our conversation or my records. Ask me and I’ll delete them.
- Analytics data: kept by Google for up to 14 months.
- Server and security logs: kept for a limited period, then deleted or overwritten.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask me:
- what personal data I hold about you;
- to correct or update it;
- to delete it;
- to stop using it, where you gave consent.
If you’re in the European Union or the UK, you have similar rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request or raise a concern, email [email protected] or use the contact form. I’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This site is not aimed at anyone under 18, and I don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent me their details, contact me and I’ll delete them.
Links to other sites
Project pages link to other websites, including ones I run, such as GSTIN.cloud and GetBusiness. Each of those sites has its own privacy policy, and this one doesn’t cover them.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts collecting data differently, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
